Jordan Retro 13
The Air Jordan 13 Retro is one of the most beloved Michael Jordan signature shoes of all time. Originally released in 1997 and worn on court by Jordan on the way to his sixth and final Championship before his second retirement, the Jordan 13 is one of the most historically important models in the legendary line. It was designed by Tinker Hatfield, the man behind many of the most iconic Air Jordan and Nike sneakers from the 1980s to present day. Hatfield took inspiration from Jordan’s “Black Cat” nickname, creating a sleek and powerful shoe partly modeled after an actual panther. The outsole is inspired by the jungle cat’s paw, while the upper also features a holographic “cat eye” Jumpman logo. Elsewhere in the design, the Jordan 13 features a suede and/or leather upper sporting a unique quilted finish with small circular embroidery. One of Jordan’s best-performing models from his early era of Air Jordans, the sole unit of the AJ13 is equipped with a carbon-fiber midfoot shank for support and responsive Zoom Air cushioning in the forefoot and heel. A herringbone tread pattern ensures grip on the court, while another holographic Jumpman logo adds the final signature touch to the design.
